Sal Rei
Some fishermen and their friends launch their boat from the little island of Sal Rei, Boa Vista.
The town in the background is also called Sal Rei. The name means Salt King. Until the advent of refrigeration salt was a very important commodity, and the salt pans which lay beside the little town were very important to the Portuguese economy.
