House in Prosperous Bay
This derelict house, on the edge of a cliff, was once the scene of a murder; one of only three murders to have occurred in the island of St Helena in the entire 20th century.
The victim was the look-out, who lived here all alone, and his killers appear to have been intent on stealing his watch and some other trinkets.
The open gape of the cottage seems somehow to express its horror at the senseless crime.
