Construction of Castle Wall
The left-hand half of the photo shows a completed piece of castle wall.The right-hand half of the photo shows the centre section of a piece of wall that has now become ruinous. This allows us to see how it was constructed.
The castle dates from the 8th century but was extensively repaired in the 14th century. This work might date from either period.
