Ferry, Bosham Hoe
Ferry is the name of the place, on the opposite shore from Itchenor, where people wait for the boat to come and fetch them across the water.
One can imagine that there must have been a ferry service here for many hundreds of years. The only other way of getting from Bosham to Itchenor, and vice-versa, is to travel all the way around the top of the Chichester Harbour channels on a journey of around ten miles.
