Orange and White Arches, Cordoba
Ranks of orange and white archways in the ancient Moorish mosque at Cordoba (Andalusia, Spain). The archways are said to represent an oasis of palm trees in the African desert. As such they are emblematic of the typical way in which immigrants hanker for the things of home and seek to reproduce them.
