Note the omnipresent olive groves which cover every available metre of hillside. Olives have been cultivated here, in Andalusia, since Roman times, but not in this manner. Mono-culture, even of a traditional crop, is never ecologically desirable. Mono-culture destroys habitat variety, and thereby destroys wildlife.
