With its magnificent bow window, hipped roof, and elaborate dormer windows this is, without a doubt, the most elegant and attractive shop front in the whole of Chichester. Indeed, it is also one of the finest houses in the town and, with the exception of the market cross and the cathedral, is the most important building in the four main streets.
Purchase's also happens to be one of few remaining family owned businesses in the city; it still belongs to Arthur's descendants.
