This baby wren hopped out of the nest - and flew straight into the garage! There he sat, cheeping away for all he was worth, but Mum and Dad were too scared to go into that big, dark place.
Eventually I shooed the bird from the rafters, and when he settled on a tin of paint I carried it out - with him still aboard. From the tin of paint he flew first to Grand-pa's foot and then onto Grand-ma's trellis. When I wandered up and took this photo he pretended not to see me.
The baby wren sat on the trellis for almost half an hour, and then he suddenly flew off to the other end of the garden and met up with his excited parents. The prodigal son got a nice fat moth given to him, and for all I know they all lived happily ever after.
