"Snail Grass"Buy

At first glance this grass seems to be covered in seed heads, but it is actually thronged with snails!
In some climates snails are obliged to hibernate for the winter; in more temperate places they remain active throughout the winter but spend the summer asleep. The proper name for this "summer-nation" is aestivatiion.
By spending the summer months glued to the stems of plants the snails escape the drought. Come the rain and they will awaken - and breed.
